Attention, adara1031!
A friend of mine, igorxa, is a camera-phile and was curious about what kind of camera you used when you took your pictures in Europe.

Quote: who is adara1031? and what kind of camera does she use? i noticed some heavy vignetting in a few of her europe shots (on her website) and that's usually a sign of old cameras, and that always piques my curiosity...

Would you mind sating his curiosity and posting what kind of camera you use(d)?

music: Bee Gees - "You Make Me Feel Like Dancing" (won't go away!)

It was some cheap $15 advantix camera I got at Sears the summer before I went to Europe and has long since been laid to rest (it fell off a cruise ship during my first year of med school)... my current camera is a Vivatar with a zoom that I got for $10 at Wal-mart, and some of the Italy shots where taken with it in March of 2002....

I break way too many cameras to spend too much money on them...

thanks, too, for passing that on, btw! I'm glad someone enjoyed my pics. =)

He'll be amused to know it was a newer, cheaper camera I'm sure ;)

highly amused. i used to get the same vignetting out of my old russian box camera at large apeture settings. of course, this was a cold war era camera, so quality control was poor at best, and the design was flawed. i think i got lucky and got one of the better models, but it still has plastic lenses. it's considered a toy camera for just that reason. i don't do any serious photography with it (anymore. i bought it on a europe trip in 2000, and i took several pictures of mauthausen with it. i think the character of the camera made the images more powerful in my mind), but it sure is fun to use.
