What: TOSRPTMS - The Official Semi-Regular Poker Tournament of Mississippi
More What: A No-Limit Hold 'Em, small stakes, friendly yet competitive poker game amongst friends pulling competitors from all over Mississippi.
When: Saturday, July 17th, 2004 (approximately one week)
Where:
Schedule: Doors open at 10:30 AM for check-in and buy-in. We'll take the first twenty players to show up or reserve a seat. Be at your table assignment at 11:50 AM. Game play starts at noon. No late buy-ins. We play to one man's left standing...er...sitting.
Cost: $25+. Broken down that's $20 Buy-in, $5 mandatory fee for the house costs of sodas and snacks (these get very expensive). Alcohol is welcome but byob as are any special, non-standard snacks that only you would eat. We'll be taking a short dinner break around 6-7PM, so either bring money for your dinner or pack a brown bag.
Extras: If you have a few spare folding chairs, please bring them. Table-space and chips are thoughtfully contributed by Rogers and the
Rules: There will be a quickie how-to session before we start the game. Don't be afraid to ask questions. I'll have a copy of the rules for everyone to look over, sign, and carry to the tables with them.
The minimum opening bet is equal to the size of the big blind. The minimum raise is equal to the last bet/raise for that round of betting. This is a no-limit tournament, which means there is no maximum bet. Be ready for aggressive play, bluffing, and re-raises.
Although this game is competitive, remember to keep your temper in check. The buy-ins are low so we're here to have fun; winning some extra cash is only a bonus. Smack-talk and teasing is common in competitive games and expected amongst this group of friends. Gentle ribbing and heckling is acceptable and usually in good fun. That said, don't be a total flaming jackass to other players.
We'll probably be using the seventh progression (prog7, the green one) for the game.
