Moving Days
I've had several of you guys ask and I haven't had any time to plan out an exact schedule until now.

We'll be packing a little (hopefully) on this Friday night (August 11), maybe loading a bit into the truck when we get it. But the big haul will be on Saturday morning. We'll start about 8 or 9 AM and keep truckin' 'til we're done.

So if you haven't already made plans, we'd love (and need) the help. I'll try to give a call to those of you who have asked, but I figured I'd post this here (since it takes less time) since I haven't had a lick of time to speak to at length.

mood: head-achy, need bed

If you guys need any boxes, if I can get off my lazy ass and get stuff unpacked you're welcome to them. All shapes and sizes.

I'm having company Friday night, and a wedding to go to on Saturday, so I'm out for the actual move, but any of the pre-move stuff you need (like my truck for hauling trash to the lexington pointe dumpsters muahahahaa) just let me know.

I think we can help. Maybe...am I supposed to already be doing something on Saturday? I can't remember. I'll ask Dave, Mom, and Jonathan. Between the three of them, they can usually tell me what I'm supposed to be doing (and if I have plans for any given day).

I'll get back to you.

I found out what it was: Party for coworker that evening and Clarksdale Blues Fest that day. I haven't decided yet...we can certainly help that morning (8 am is always better than 9 at this time of year), but we might have to leave in time to go see T-Model Ford at 4 pm in Clarksdale. It just depends on the weather.

I should be available for most of the day.

Do you guys need the extra trailer capacity or no? Big Truck and various little trucks going to be enough?

Also, in light of heat waves and such, and even though right now Saturday is forecast to be the coolest day of the week... this heat will kick your ass. Expect it. :)
I don't think any of you have any kind of tolerance to working in this kind of heat. Lacking that acclimatization factor, if you don't prepare your body for it you'll likely be wasted by lunch.
A few suggestions:
Start drinking tons of water no later than Friday afternoon.
An extra multi vitamin on the days prior to and including move day would not go amiss.
You MUST eat. In volume. Breakfast especially. Wouldn't hurt to eat something starchy and/or pasty-y friday night. And if you're not drinking some variety of gatorade-like substance (any sugar water variety will do) during the day, a snack here and there is a good plan. Your blood sugar will drop like a stone working in this heat and you'll feel like utter poo really quickly if you don't eat. (As a reference, I eat nearly 3500 calories a day and stay put weight-wise. Don't think you can do this little task on your normal calorie intake. You can't. Eat up.)
Don't feel bad/guilty if you have to sit down in the AC for a while. It's bound to happen. Better that than falling over and having to be hauled to the hospital. And if you get back up and have to sit back down again 5 minutes later because you're dying... don't get back up. Supervise for a while, take a quick cold shower, eat a snack, something... we'll understand.
Take it slow.

Also, I know that this is a terrible notion to some of you guys... but the earlier you start, the less time you spend in the heat. Heat starts to hit hard around 10 and keeps on rising. Sun comes up enough to work at 5:30. :) I would definately recommend starting as early as possible. Maybe not THAT early, but you know. :)
