The Poker Tournament - Invitation, Schedule and RSVP List

You are invited to a Poker Tournament and Party!

When: Saturday, August 30th, 2003 (This Saturday).

Schedule: Doors open at noon. Check-in starts at 1 PM. Check-in will include buy-in, random seating assignments, questions about gameplay, and rules. The game itself starts at 2 PM. Please try to come during check-in. The game will run until there's one wo/man left sitting at the final table, probably no later than 10 PM so out-of-towners can make the return trip. Good company will last indefinitely.

Where: zordac's and my house
Note: I've taken out the maps now that the event has passed. Safer that way.

What: We'll be playing No-Limit Texas Hold 'Em with blinds that double every hour. It's easy to learn and we'll run through how to play the game during Check-In. Plus, we'll have a few practice hands before we begin. To get a solid idea of how the game works, watch The Travel Channel at 8 PM this Wednesday to watch a Texas Hold'Em Tourney in Los Angeles.

Accommodations: I can offer crash space for four to five people if necessary or offer crash space at nearby friends' (who will also be attending) houses.

Who: Anyone who likes poker, enjoys fair and competitive game-play. All are invited even significant others who just want to watch, even if I've only met you a couple times. No trouble-makers, period. All egos that are too big to get through the front door aren't welcome in the house.

Bring:
- $20 for the buy-in (yes, we're playing for real money, but it's tournament-elimination-style play, so all you'll risk is that $20 for a day of fun with friends and a chance to win fairly sizable pots)
- any special drinks you may want (I'll try to buy a few cases of general sodas, water, etc. We'll all pitch in for dinner ideas, like ordering pizza).
- Optional: A snack, to share if you are so inclined. :)
- yourself

Please R.S.V.P. here so I can get an approximate head-count and buy enough chips. Post any questions you may have.
