Talk nerdy to me!

The No Chance in Hell Wish-List

I'm normally very anti-materialistic, but sometimes I get the same urges as everyone else.

Simon and Garfunkel have reunited and are on tour again!

I wanna go to one of their shows, desperately! But I don't think they've even scheduled a performance nearby.

And I can't help thinking of Johnny Cash's recent passing and how much loss I'll feel when these two pass eventually. I might never get to hear them in concert (and if you know me really well, you know that I love live music but have never made much of an effort to attend concerts unless they're free and local).

Blessed are the sat upon, spat upon, ratted on...
Blessed are the meth drinkers, Pot sellers, Illusion dwellers...
Blessed are the penny rookers, Cheap hookers, Groovy lookers...

And I want real poker chips...These aren't even the ones I want, but they're a great price for a whole bunch of 'em. I'm envious because I've been wanting them for a while, but kesterly is actually buying some with her birthday money. I'm happy for her (and excited because she'll be sharing them with us when we play small home games) but I'm still jealous.

And a dishwasher. I want a dishwasher. Hell, I have a dishwasher, but I'm sure zordac is tired of his hands always being pruny.

I want all my mp3's back that I lost when my harddrive died...::sniffle:: I miss them. Most have been recovered because of redundancy on other people's machines, but nany I'll probably never replace because they were some obscure but beloved 80's songs (I know you're all crying for me, really.) and a few small-time independents from when I DJ'd at the campus alternative station. Oh well, they were free...

And a hackey sack.

If Any of You are Curious as to My Plans for This Weekend

There's a poker tournament for the Literacy Council this weekend on campus (whee!).

Thanks to kesterly for telling me about it.

For my notes so I don't forget what time to show up:
Friday and Saturday night students will have 12 hours to play Texas Holdem and be named Oxford's King or Queen of Poker...Henderson Jones, a second-year law student from Pontotoc, is a resident adviser in Deaton Hall, which is where the tournament will be...The lobby, which is where the game will be from 8 p.m. until 2 a.m. each night, will be able to accommodate 200 people at a time by having 25 tables with eight people to a table...

$5 buy-in, and I can re-buy-in as often as I like. It'll be good practice :)

I was planning on seeing the university theatre department's performance of Proof but I'd rather play poker instead. No offense to anyone who cares, but the Ole Miss theatre department blows.

I will, said the Earth.
For all I've created returns unto me.
From dust were ye made and dust ye shall be.
