Did I mention that the Japanese are about three years behind us in internet technology? Bleh. The network went down over the past weekend and stayed down for three days. By that point, I had so many emails and such that I just blew it off and left them unread for several days (okay, well only two). At any rate, just like with school work, I've got some catching up to do.

Happy much belated birthday to Nyarl. The net was down so I wasn't able to send you a card or make a phone call to you (for free since I have little money).

Happy non-belated birthday to Max! It was her birthday a day early here :).

Note to all those who want something from Japan. I need specifics on what you want. I don't have much time left to go hunting around for stuff but I'll do my best. I would rather ship them back home than try to pack them all in my bags. Talk to me directly, either icq or email and I'll try to tell you how much it'll cost. As much as I'd like to spend a thousand dollars on everyone of my friends and bring back presents galore, I will need financial assistance.

Bought some octopus from the grocery today. I've just got to figure out the best way to cook it now. I think pasta is the safest and easiest way to go. On the walk back from the market, I saw one bat, flying around in circles close to the small creek bridge. As I passed over the bridge, the number of bats grew to two, then three, then 15 bats.

Might I mention that I've never seen a bat before outside of the Audubon Zoo.

They were very cool, small, fluttering more rapidly than birds, their bodies dipping and spiking quickly, almost as if they were struggling to remain aloft. I set down my groceries on the bridge and just watched them for fifteen minutes.

Instead of cooking that octopus, someone brought me McDonald's (makudonaludo) back from the train station (because everyone loves me here). Will try to figure out what to do with it and some scallops some other time.

Headed to Tokyo for part of Golden Week and hopefully Hiroshima on the next weekend. Have taken a lot of pictures but have been too busy with school work to update my page. Really want to change the design around, too, but not sure if just maintaining what I've got for a while since I know so little is the best thing to do.

Enough rambling. Much email and papers reading and kanji homework to do.
