While poking around through various communities, including oxfordms, I discovered that one of the Shasradio listeners has started a community dedicated to Shasradio!

That's forking awesome.

See: shaswhores.

I didn't know how to make a new news/comments post on the news page on shasradio or even if glover would want it posted there...but it's here at least.

Do I know you from somewhere?

Ah Lost Angel, I know her well.

The two of us have been trapped in this hell of Oxford for so long the days seem like years, the years like eons and the sushi like heaven wrapped in rice. We have toiled, suffered and worked through school - and we are still alive, fighting the horrors of bouncy girls in nothing tops that need to eat a burger before the wind catches them. Yes, we are Oxfordians in address only - but she has fought harder than I - yes! She has suffered through dorms, while I had not that horror since grad students and law students are not forced through such torture. She still fights braver than I - for she lives IN the city limits - where the game-day noise can be heard loud and clear on these autumn days. Yes, Lost Angel has survived, and will continue on - I on the other hand am getting the devil out of here as soon as someone hires me =)

You ask, who is Lost Angel? And I reply - why she is.

Re: *grin*

um...deep...brain freeze lol

I was just wondering if I personally knew her. I've lived here my whole life, my boyfriend is a transplant. We're both on ShasRadio, me as GothicBeauty and he as crispy.

Re: *grin*

Likely we've bumped into each other over the last five years I've lived in Oxford. I'm originally from Hattiesburg.

I'm fairly sure I've talked to you on shasradio chat before.

Either way, hello. :)

Re: *grin*

Hello back. :) It's quite possible we've run into one another, considering how I went to school in Oxford and have been involved with things that went on on campus since about 9th grade, and I just started my 4th year here.

I'm fairly sure we've talked on shas as well, when Christopher had DSL at his old apartment we were constantly fighting over who had rights to the computer (and could therefore control the music lol). We both spent a lot of time in the chat room.

Re: *grin*

Ah, I sorta "married-in" to the local culture by dating a local for over year when I got here. Said local goes by the name of Will Vaughan, but if you didn't go to Oxford High (rather than Lafayette), you might not know him. I can throw around some names of friends and former associates if you'd like. I probably know a lot of the older brothers and sisters of some people who might have been in the grades below you.

Several us are also a part of the ex-Masque crew (don't get everraven started, i.e. I won't wind up the gramophone when there's bad vinyl loaded) which could very well bring this six degrees of separation closer.

You could also be an ex grove-rat, meaning that Jim Ciscell likely wafted through at some point or another.

Re: *grin*

I know Jim. EVERYONE in Oxford at least KNOWS OF Jim. The Grove Rats were a lil before my time (I graduated hs in 1999) but I've heard all the stories (or a large majority, anyway.) I did go to Lafayette, so I don't know your ex? beau.

If you're on The Ciscell Net (http://groups.yahoo.com/theonetrueciscellnet) I'm Lani Beth, the resident demi-goth. :)

Re: *grin*

I used to be on Ciscell Net but I ran away to Japan and couldn't keep up with the overwhelming number of emails. I haven't talked to him in ages.

You know what...we should get Jim on livejournal! His posting on a journal would be much better than tons and tons of emails (or at least for me). :) I need to look up his email so I can tell him about this place.

Re: *grin*

I've mentioned LJ on the group a time or two, I don't know if anyone on the list is on here or not. The list is down for maintenance right now, I was reading the posts and BOOM it crashed on me :(

But yes, his LJ would be quite interesting to read. :)

"the days seem like years, the years like eons and the sushi like heaven wrapped in rice."

Just to interject... that's a GREAT line there, Ms. Raven :)
