Did you know that SexyBlackMan has a livejournal?

Huh? Didya? Didya?

Well he does! And it's here: sxyblkmn

I feel like Hoodily-Hooin'!

* * * * * *

I've been using livejournal for two years, one month and one day. I think I am better for it.

I'm headed to Memphis today to get some shorts, a bathing suit, and a bottle of wine for my hosts next week in Destin.

I am going on my first vacation since I took a spring break trip to Kyushu while I was in Japan (other than visiting family for Christmas, etc.). Not that I live a very hard life. However, I think it's going to be very good for me to leave the house for an extended length of time and go someplace different.

Dude! Sexyblackman! I'm SO adding him to my list RIGHT NOW!

And I'm still jealous that you've been to Japan. Pout.

I know I am truly amazingly lucky, blessed, etc. for having traveled to two countries in Asia. I thank my school and department regularly for having given me that opportunity (although my performance in school as of the last couple years has not been sufficiently appreciative).

But I've been living in this tiny little place and rarely getting out of the house for over a year now. I need to make a lifestyle change. Even though one vacation won't fix it permanently, it will remind me of what all I've been missing outside these walls.

Re:

Well I can't complain TOO much.

I've been to Italy and Russia, also thanks to my past schooling. Italy was awesome, and Russia certainly was an amazing experience, but I've always wanted to go to Japan.

Although, day trips to New Orleans are always readily available for a little excitement over the weekends.

Fantastic. Since I don't know you well (sadly), I didn't know you'd visited such wonderful places?

When did you go? What did you do/see? Do you have pictures? What did you learn while you were there?

I know a comments section isn't enough room to explain it all, but perhaps I can entice you to make one or many journal entries about your experiences (if you haven't already). :)

Re:

I have tons of pictures from both trips.

Hopefully I can get my act together and start scanning them in.

I went to Italy when I was in 10th grade, which was '96, and to Russia with Hinds, in 2001.

Heh, I know the feeling.

I've never scanned any of my pictures from China.

Nor have I put up even a third of my pictures from Japan on the web. The only reason a few are up there already is because I had a digital camera (cuts the huge, laborous step of scanning) and because I was over there for six months with a lot more free time than at home.

Re:

Next time, I promise I WILL have a digital camera when I go on a trip like that. Oh yes, I shall.

Re: Destin?

Welp, I'll be riding with other people/pretty much subject to their whim and without an internet connection. I might have a chance to check this once more before I leave. I'll have to ask and see what our schedule is like. Let me know how to get in touch with you. Email me at mvcox@olemiss.edu and I'll try to check it at some point over the trip.
