I haven't been in the water yet because I don't have a swimsuit, but that's honestly okay with me. I don't really care to go swimming. I've been sitting in the sun, reading a little constitutional law and Sin and Syntax: How to Craft Wickely Effective Prose.
I'm actually having lots of fun. Jennifer's family is really laid-back and jovial, easy with the schedule so that we do what we want to do, when we want to do it. It's been a fairly "vacationy" vacation, rather than one of those rigorous timetables of sight-seeing and going. My mother was always a breathless, unslowing vacationer...unless we were planted on the beach, we didn't stop moving (exaggeration, but still seemingly close).
Had dinner at Fudpuckers last night. They make decent Long Island Ice Teas (although they aren't as good as the one that the bartender at Proud Larry's makes). I bought a black purse that looks like a watering can. I'll take a picture when I get back and post it. I'm thinking about putting glitter in the spout so that I can sprinkle glitter like water on everything.
I got a henna tattoo on my lower back (temporary, lasts 2-4 weeks) amidst all the cat scratches from where the kittens try to climb my chair to get to my shoulders. I'll take a picture of that when I get back, too. It's hard not to think of it as a traning bra for a real tattoo later, to get used to it before you decide on the final one.
However, I don't really even want a real tattoo; 2-4 weeks is much more my style, I think. It lets me use my body as a changing canvas, whenever I like, rather than slowly using up all the spaces until there are none left. However, it looks like I smeared a handful of blackberries in my bed from where the outer shell of it chipped off during the night.
